Qualifications
- Must have 10 years’ experience or more as an Assistant or Head Superintendent at a golf course.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture or 10 years or more of Assistant or Head Superintendent experience required.
- Must be a Class A Member of the GCSAA.
- Qualified Applicator Certificate and Pest Control Advisor License Required.
- Computer literate and computerized irrigation experience required.
- Must have a Valid California Driver’s License.
- Deep understanding of turfgrass management, golf course construction, and golf rules and strategies.
- Ability to interpret contracts and enforce provisions with contractors and vendors.
- Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management and wildlife management practices.

Turlock Golf and Country Club, a private club, was founded in 1924 and the original championship design is still one of the most enjoyable and challenging courses in the area. Our fairways are Hybrid Bermuda providing an excellent playing surface throughout the year and Bent Grass Greens. Key Areas of Responsibility:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree in Turf Management, Agronomy, Horticulture or a related field. Minimum of three years’ experience in golf course maintenance including management experience. Three years of experience as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is preferred. (Extensive management experience may be considered as an alternative to a specific degree requirement.)
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Valid California Driver’s License. Insurable under District policy. Qualified Applicator, Irrigation Technician, and Certified Arborists Certificates are desirable. Golf Course Superintendent Class A certification is highly desirable, Class B is desirable.
COMPENSATION

The Golf Course Superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course areas including tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths; supervises the maintenance and repair of the irrigation system; operates and makes adjustments to the computer-controlled irrigation system; makes repairs to motorized and other mechanical equipment; assists in budget development and the process of buying new and/or used equipment; and assists during the off-season with snow removal and other tasks. Company Description
The Glenbrook Club is a private club located on Lake Tahoe’s beautiful east shore in Glenbrook, Nevada. Club members and their guests enjoy a unique nine-hole golf course, Golf Shop and Clubhouse, with a restaurant that is open from mid-June through early October each year. The Glenbrook Club was established in 1926 as the first golf course in Nevada. The course offers both beauty and challenge, and has been listed by Golf Digest as one of the world’s most enjoyable nine-hole courses. Rounds producing the best score require accurate shot making, as golf great Ben Hogan noted while playing his 1948 exhibition on our course. In total, five Masters Champions have graced Glenbrook’s fairways through the years. The course has been private since 1998.

equivalent amount of work experience (5+ years) as a Golf Course Superintendent or as
an Assistant Superintendent - A valid driver’s license and Nevada’s pesticide applicator’s license or ability to obtain
one if hired - Certified Golf Course Superintendent (CGCS) preferred.
- Understand the rules of golf and be current on federal, state, and local laws on course
operations with proven knowledge of the principles and practices of golf course
maintenance - Knowledge of the maintenance of golf course tees, fairways and greens; seeding and
maintenance practices for golf course turf; planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for
plants, shrubs and trees; characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil
conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; drainage control
methods; and irrigation systems, including wells, pumps and automatic controls. - Strong administrative, management, leadership and communication skills, especially in
critical problem-solving and decision-making - Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, budgets, and resources
- Ability to schedule and supervise maintenance work to achieve the most efficient
utilization of workers and equipment; prepare clear and concise reports; and maintain
effective employee and public relations. - Passion for the game of golf and dedication to providing an unparalleled experience to
members and guests - Proficiency in computer use, knowledge of Toro irrigations controls, Microsoft Office
and other applications as specified by supervisor. - Highly proficient golf course equipment operator
- Position Benefits
Starting salary for the Golf Course Superintendent position will be between $75,000 – $85,000 and is commensurate upon prior experience and job qualifications.
